Fentanyl and Naloxone Kits

Tools such as Naloxone and Fentanyl drug testing strips are how we do our part to combat the ongoing overdose crisis. Fentanyl is in the Bow Valley—but harm reduction can save lives.

Fentanyl Test Kit

Thanks to a community fundraising effort and coordination by the Access & Inclusion Assistant with the Banff Public Library, fentanyl testing strips are now available in the Bow Valley. Fentanyl test strips with instructions are available at various local medical clinics and pharmacies (please call ahead to confirm).

Naloxone Kits

Naloxone kits are available without prescription and free of charge at local pharmacies and various local medical clinics (please call ahead to confirm).

Naloxone can be administered by anyone using the take-home kit, which includes the information you need to safely give a naloxone injection. For more information about naloxone kits and identifying an opioid-related overdose, visit BowValleyDrugRisks.ca.

If you think you or someone with you has overdosed on fentanyl, call 911 immediately. The effects of the naloxone antidote are NOT long-lasting and professional medical help will be required.
