Meet our Pharmacist Jolene Gunn!

Meet our Pharmacist, Jolene Gunn, who brings passion, years of experience and provides education on topics such as sleep, neuroplasticity and pain management.

Jolene will review your medications and medical concerns with a goal of finding ways to optimize your health. From specific dosage questions, side effects, new treatment advice, or if you are looking to reduce the number of medications you take, Jolene is a great care provider to have on your health care team!

What are the top health concerns you see coming up most often and how do you approach them?

J: I have been observing an increase in concerns surrounding poor sleep, and as we know sleep is normally an indicator of other factors going on in someone’s life. Things like stress, worry, movement, sunlight exposure, diet, medications, and other medical conditions all interweave to affect the quality and quantity of our sleep. My aim in approaching sleep related concerns is attempting to look at the big picture and then experimenting with actionable tasks to find the right solutions for that individual.

What are the main reasons for people to consult with a Pharmacist?

J: You can consult a pharmacist for any health-related questions. It could be for concerns surrounding osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, vaccinations, natural health products…. and more. And, if we don’t know the answer, we will certainly find it and get back to you!

What are the benefits of consulting with a Pharmacist?

J: I think talking with a pharmacist allows you the opportunity to ask all the questions, to look at options, and to gather information to make the best decisions regarding your health. We want you to feel supported in your choices and want to assist you in evaluating whether a product you are using is working effectively for you.

What are you most passionate about in your work?

J: I am a bit of a nerd, so I love learning and sharing this knowledge with others. Ultimately, I am passionate about improving the lives of others; cures are not always possible but reducing suffering and improving someone’s quality of life, well that is certainly something I strive towards.

What do you love most about living in the Bow Valley?

J: The opportunity for adventure and the community of people. Raising our children in this community with friends that feels more like family, it fills my heart!
